Annaduff were beaten 0-7 to 0-5 by Gortletteragh in Cloone on Saturday evening. Gortletteragh were the better team with the wet conditions not suiting Annaduff against a physically stronger team. At the draw held in Cox’s Steakhouse Bar, there was no Jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 8, 10, 20, 23. The 50 euro winner was Kenny Cox, Antfield. The 25 euro winners were Barry Butler, Kilnagross; Emma and Olive Cox, Antfield; Hilary Phelan, Drumsna. The next draw takes place in Taylor’s of Drumsna with a Jackpot of 5,200 euro on this Sunday night.


Deepest sympathy is extended to the Moran and O’Toole families on the death of Dolly Moran, (nee O’Toole), Drumgildra and Carrick-on-Shannon and formerly, Gort, Jamestown, wife of the late George Willie Moran. Removal took place to St. Mary’s Church, Annaduff with burial in the adjoining Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

90 years young

Congratulations to Peter Faughnan, Cortober, Ck-on-Shannon who celebrated his 90th last week with a party in Cryans Hotel.

Summer School

Drumsna is gearing up for its Third International Anthony Trollope Summer School commencing in the Community Centre on Friday September 6th. Official opening at 7pm by the Chairman of Leitrim County Council Sean McDermott. This year we are joining up with “The Gathering” and “ Carrick 400” with all Lectures in the Bush Hotel on Saturday September 7th. Chairperson for the day is Michael Williamson of the UK Trollope Society. Speakers include Journalist Mary Kenny and after dinner speaker Howard Gregg. There will also be a presentation of Paintings of Anthony Trollope by Sinead Guckian in the Bush Hotel Trollope Room. On Sunday there will be a walk to Ballycloran Castle. The workshop and lunch costs 50 euro. Workshop, lunch and Banquet is 90 euro.
