Road works begin
Roscommon Co.Council have commenced work on a stretch of road in the Cloonfower area where a number of accidents have occurred over a period of time. Resurfacing has taken place and signage as well as road marking will be put in place. However some locals are not happy as they were of the opinion that a special anti slip surface would be put in place. The surface of the road seems to be the problem and this is why locals are concerned as if this will work. The Council engineers are of the opinion that this will be ok with the new signage and road markings. Meanwhile all motorists are asked to proceed with caution on this stretch of road.

Well done Mayo.
Well done to Mayo on another great victory in this years Championship and we all want them to bring Sam back across the Shannon. Many of the Mayo folk stopped off in our village and wined and dined in our local restaurants. Hopefully they now can go all the way and we all wish them the best of luck in the All Ireland Final in September. Good luck to the Roscommon minors on next Sunday as they take on Tyrone for a place in the All Ireland Minor Football Final.
