Recent Deaths: Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Mary Connolly Mooney Dublin on the death of her husband Noel, whose funeral took place on Thursday of last week. Sympathy is also tendered to Edmund and Cassie Dolan, Calloughs and to the other relatives of Mr. Caimin Dolan, Bawnboy, whose funeral took place on Sunday last. The death has also taken place in New York of G.A.A. legend ninety two years old Mr. Christy Creamer, formerly Cornawall. Sympathy is extended to his wife Patricia, his children and grandchildren and other relatives among whom are his nieces Mrs. Peggy McGirl, Derrygoan and Mrs. Eilish McGirl, Drumdiffer. Recalling January 1995: Couples Winston Harkness and Daphne Hyland and Cathal Daly and Elizabeth Keegan had announced their engagements. The following officers were elected at the A.G. M. of Drumreilly G.A.A. Club: Chairman: Tommy Connolly; Secretary: Martin McCartin; Treasurers: Des Donegan and Michael Holahan. Forty guests were seated at the Drumreilly Community Care Committee’s New Year Party in the Community Centre. Seán and Marie Donohoe (free tickets to New York) and Jennifer Reilly (a Fugi camera) were first and second prizewinners respectively in the Killeshandra Band Draw. Mass was celebrated in the Community Centre while interior painting was carried out in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea. There was joy for Pádraig and Maura Gaffney with the arrival of their baby daughter. The following officers were elected at the Drumreilly Community Care Committee A.G.M: Chairman; Fr. John Sexton C.C.; Secretary: Pat Conefrey; Treasurers: Roy Taylor and Fr. Sexton. Local athletes Mary McKeon, Bríd Lunney and Evonne Maxwell were among the winners at the Open Sports Hall athletic competitions in the Sports Complex, Ck on Shannon. After nineteen successive years service in charge of the Leitrim Co. Board financial matters Seán Maxwell called it a day. The death had taken place in the U.S.A. Of Mrs. Mary McEnroy nee Galligan formerly Drumconlevan. The deaths also took place of Keelrin-born Lawrence (“Lal”) Reilly, England and of Paddy McGirl, Drumraine, formerly Drumcoura and Drumdiffer. Waist Removal Drumreilly: The total weight loss last week was 2stone 9lbs.Well done to everyone. The winning team was The In-betweeners. Boxercise. The next four weeks starts on 6th February 2013 at 6.45pm. The cost will be twenty euro for four weeks, and payable on the first night.

Active Age Snippets: Chairperson Riny Jannink presided at the weekly meeting of Drumreilly Active Age on Wednesday of last week. The outstanding membership fees should be forwarded as soon as possible. All are reminded of the Drumreilly St. Valentine’s Pancake and Bacon Social on Tuesday, February 5th. The good wishes of all his fellow members for an early return to continuity go to hospitalised Pat Gallogly.
