DEATH: We offer our sympathy to the family relatives friends and business associates of John Frank O’Reilly Ballymacormack and Dublin Street Longford who died earlier this week. He was a very well known business man and Insurance brokers in Longford over the past sixty years.
DEATH: The death occurred of Ruth Plant of Toome Ballymahon on September 7th after a long illness in her ninety second year. Ruth was wife of the late James Plant and was formerly Ruth Groarke from Clough Kenagh. She was a very quiet reserved lady who kept a very low profile especially since the death of her husband James. She is survived by her brother George sister Daphne Begley,sister in law ,brother in law,nephews nieces grandnephews,grand nieces and a large circle of friends and relatives. She will be buried in Kilcomack cemetery after funeral service in Saint Catherines church Ballymahon on this Monday at 2pm.
SOCIAL GROOUP: The Kenagh social Group will meet every Tuesday night in Saint Dominics Community Centre at 8pm during the coming winter. All members are asked to attend and new members welcome.

DEATH: We offer our sympathy to Johnny Farrell McHugh Park Kenagh on the death of his sister Mary Tanner(nee Farrell)which occurred at the residence of her daughter in Kildare. Mary was a native of Lough Looney Kenagh and was married to the late Frank Tanner formerly of the island. She lived all her married life in particular where she reared her two daughters. She moved to Kildare after the death of her husband Frank. She was in her eighty seventh year and had enjoyed good health until very recently. May she rest in peace.

CARERS ASSOCIAION: The Carers Association are delighted to announce that we will be opening a drop-in service for carers in Longford every Monday from Monday 17th September. The venue is College Medical Centre,Longford (accross from the cathedral)and will be open from 10am to 4pm every Monday. Family Carers are welcome to drop in and seek advice/discuss issues related to caring and will be welcomed with listening ear. For further information please call Caroline on 044 9347922. The plan is to pay for this service by holding musical bingo sessions every week. We are also increasing our support group meetings to include Granard and Ballymahon.
