DEATH OF DAN IGOE: Our deepest sympathy to Mrs Josphine O’Hanlon and her husband Ciaran Moigh on the death on 29th August of her father Dan Igoe, Kelleter Killoe. Dan is also survived by his wife Annie-Joe, sons James Michael Donal and Ciaran, daughter Dolores, Martina, Margaret and Mary, sister Rita Maloney(Cloncullen),cousin Mel Darcy,grandchildren,relatives and many friends to whom we also extend our deepest symapathy. Dan’s remains were laid to rest at old Killoe Cemtery.May God grant rest to his soul.

CLUB 91: Club 91 held their AGM last week when the chairperson Mai Reilly welcomed all members back after the Summer break and hoped that everyone had a good Summer. She thanked all members for their loyalty to the club as its the members who keep the club running so succesfully for no less than the last 21 years. She also thanked the musicians who never fail to turn up every week and also Fr Padraig and Fr Tom. A vote of sympathy was proposed by the club’s secretary Eithne Noonan to Mai and Eileen Reilly on the death of their brother Br James in Abbeyleix RIP. At the AGM Eithne Noonan read a very comprehensive report of the last year’s activities which were many and varied.All officers elected remain the same as last year and everyone at the club wish them good luck for the coming year. The group meet every Wednesday evening from 8 to 10pm in the Bridgeways Centre across from St Matthews Church. New members are always welcome.

REFEREE: Congratulations to Fergal Kelly son of Michael and Carmel who did a great job on refreeing the All Ireland minor football semi final between Dublin and Kerry in Croke Park and to his umpires on the day Phelim Kelly, Pat O’Toole, Patrick McGuire and Paul Kelly. We wish the best of luck to fergal when he does linesman at the upcoming minor All Ireland final.

SYMPATTHY: We wish to extend our sincere sympathy to Mrs Patricia Dooley and her husband Seamus and their family Rathmore on the death last week of Patrcia’s mother Mrs Rose Cunningham Corlea Kingscourt Co Cavan,predeceased by her husband James.Our sympathy is also extended to Mrs Cunningham’s sons ,daughters and brother grandchildren,great grandchildren sons in law daughters in law,relatives and friends. Many people from the Ballymahon area travelled to the removal to Corlea Church and to the funeral mass of Rose who was a frequent visitor to Patricia’s home down the years. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace.

AGM: Ballymahon /Forgney Commmunty games will be holding their AGM on this Thursday 13th September. Provisional venue GAA clubhouse at 8.30pm. As they head into a new programme for 2013 they need lots of helpers. Fresh ideas and energy are essential to continuing the success in our area. Everyone welcome.

BARBECUE: Ballymahon/Forgney gaels are holding a fundraising BBQ on Sunday next 16th September in Paddy Wards pub from 4.30pm to 7pm. Music will be by DJ Jack. It will cost 10 euro per family or 5 euro per person.Your support for the young players in the club will be greatly appreciated. Everyone welcome.

SYMPAHY: The death occurred at the weekend of Mr Joe Farrell Lisnacusha, Lanesboro, husband of Patsy at Innis Ree nursing home in Ballyleague. We offer our deepest sympathy to Joe’s wife daughter Jacinta and her husband Raymond McCormack (formerly of main Street,Ballymahon) to his sons Ron, Paul and Joe Joe,sisters Bridie and Phil, daughters in law,grandchildren nieces nephews relatives neighbours and wide circle of friends. His remains were laid to rest at Rathcline Cemetry on Sunday afternoon last. May he rest in peace.

INNYSIDE SINGERS: The local singing group the Innyside Singers will resume after their Summer break on Thursday Sept 20th at 8pm in the Bog Lane Theatre. The group meet every Thursday night for their rehearsals. Newcomers male and female are more than welcome to join.
