COMMUNITY GAMES: Congratulations to the U13 boys futsal team who won the county final last weekend defeating Aragh/Moydow by 3 goals. The team on the day was Dylan Farrell Max Webb Jack Magan Dylan Glancy,Paddy Duggan,Peter Nolan and Rian Cox. Well done to the boys and their manager Dan Magan. They have qualified to represent Longford in the Leinster qualifiers. We wish them continued success and thank you to all who have supported them along the way. Best of luck to the girls U13 who will also represent Longford following their win two weeks ago.
Thanks: Thank you to everyone who have collected Tesco tokens for the club. Please continue to collect them. You can drop them into the collection box in Magans shop Killshee or give them to any committee members.
DEFIBRILLATOR: Discovery of the mindless vandalism of one of the defibrillator machines was met with disgust and disbelief. How anyone could do something like this, to what is a life-saving machine, does not make sense. The group are asking all parishioners who made such a great effort to put these machines in place initially , to be vigilant and report any damage to the relevant authorities. It will cost 300 euro to replace the battery in the machine and hopefully nobody will need it in the meantime.
TIDY TOWNS: Great progress is being made tidying up the village and its surrounds. The group are appealing to more interested residents in the area to help out with regular hedge cutting, fence repairs ,rebuilding walls and keeping verges maintained. It would be much appreciated if drivers could refrain from using the verges thank you those who have co-operated so well in this regard. A very special word of thanks to John L Farrell ,PJ Oates Sean Skelly councillor Mark Casey,Jim Clancy Liam Farrell as well as the teachers and pupils of Killashee school. As the cost of fuel tools materials etc are so expensive ,a fundraising night will take place shortly . More details to follow. It is hoped to enter the village in the Tidy Towns competition soon. Thank you to all who are making this possible. A meeting for all interested in the future development of the village and tidy towns group will be held in Killashee National school on Thursday 3rd May.
