COMMUNITY GAMES: Killoe Community Games Art and Model Making Competitions will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm on Saturday the 18th. February in Ennybegs Community Centre. The age categories for Art are U8, U10, U12, U14, and U16 for boys and girls. All art entries must have a Community Games theme. Any entry may be a drawing, painting, collage or cartoon. Drawing paper will be provided for all competitors. Please bring your own crayons, pencils, colours, collage materials etc. The age categories for Model Making are U10, U12, U14 and U16 for boys and girls. Please bring your own modelling clay and accessories. All exhibits must have a Community Games theme and any materials may be used. Only entries completed at this event will be suitable for judging. All first place winners in each age group will go forward to the County Final. Longford Community Games have organised a “Come Try Day” next Sunday, the 19th. February, at Ardagh GAA Grounds from 1 pm to 3 pm. Parents/Volunteers & Children are invited to come try out the basics of Rounders, Skittles and Tag Rugby. A total of six teams from Killoe trained over the Winter and participated in Table Tennis competitions over the past month. All players put in great performances in their matches, with two teams making it to the County Finals which were held in Ardagh on Sunday the 5th of February last. The Girls U16 Table Tennis team, Laura Smith, Daisy Sullivan and Katie Morrissey, had to settle for second place, losing out to a strong Killashee team, while the Boys U13 Killoe B Table Tennis team, consisting of James Kennedy, David Heffernan, Enda Bracken and Evan Farrelly also came in at second place, losing by only a very narrow margin to Clonguish. Well done to all the boys and girls who took part in all stages of the competition and many thanks to Mary Morrissey who trained and managed the teams.

DEFIBRILLATOR: The next defibrillator training course will be held in St Theresa’s national school Clontumpher Killoe on Thursday 16 February 2012 at 6.45pm. Any persons interested in this course please contact Mark tel 087 0524045.
