ICA: Longford ICA Federation is hosting a cafe at the Agricultural Show in Moydow on Saturday next 23rd July 2011. Don’t forget to call for delicious home baking of scones, sandwiches, cake and tart and all at very reasonable prices.
Our Lady’s Hospital: On behalf of Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, Attracta and Declan would like to extend their sincere thanks to all the people who so generously supported their annual Church Gate Collection over the weekend of 9th and 10th July 2011. A special word of thanks to all the collectors who gave their time and support over the weekend.
BBQ Success: We are pleased to announce that almost €7000 was raised at the recent BBQ and Pig Roasting held at Mitchell’s, Legan. This money was raised for the local Legan Sarsfields GAA Club and the club members wish to thank all those who supported the event so generously. The work of all participants who volunteered their time to this very successful community event is much appreciated and a special word of thanks must go to the many sponsors of the fundraiser.
Summer Camp: Naoi Rath Re Creche, Legan is holding a Cookery Camp entitled Tastes from Around the World for children aged 6 to 11 years old at the Creche from Monday 15th August 2011 to Friday 19th August 2011. The camp takes place from 10am until 2pm each day and promises to be a great week of fun. The cost of this camp is €45 per child and €40 for a second child. Cemetery Masses: Cemetery Mass is taking place in Agharra Cemetery this Friday 22nd July 2011 at 8.00pm. Please inform relatives and friends of the deceased of the time and date of this Cemetery Mass.
Cul Camps: Cul Camp Football Camps are up and running around the county at the moment. From the 25th to the 29th July 2011 a Cul Camp will take place in Moran Park, Carrickedmond. From the 8th August to 12th August 2011 Ardagh’s Cul Camp will take place in Keenan Park. Prices are €55 for first child and €45 per child after that.
GAA Lotto: Last week’s GAA Lotto draw was held in Slowey’s, Kinard for a jackpot of €1850. The numbers drawn were 2, 7, 14 and 22. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winner of €100 was Roisin Casey. This week’s draw was held in Casey’s, Carrickboy for a jackpot of €1900, results of which will be published next week.
Deaths: We extend our deepest sympathy to Margaret McDonald, Kinard and family on the death of her brother-in-law Vinnie Buckley in Cork at the weekend. We also extend our sympathy to Mrs Bridget Murphy, Legan and family on the death of her brother Johnny O’ Neill, Aughnageeragh, Old Road, Ardagh on Saturday last. May they Rest in Peace.
