Ardscoil Phadraig, Granard - Parents of sixth class students are invited to attend our Open Evening on Thursday, 15th October 2015 from 7-9pm. Pupils and parents can view the excellent school facilities, meet students and staff and see the achievements, work and the success of our students first hand. Bishop William O’Higgins who was born in Barraghbeg and who laid the foundation stone for that ‘glorious undertaking’ - St. Mel’s Cathedral in the 1840s - will take place on Thursday the 15th October in Drumlish Community Centre at 8pm - part of the Longford Historical Society series of Autumn Lectures.
A Benefit night for the family of the late Sean Mulligan, Ballinamuck will take place in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva on Monday, 16th November 2015. Music on the night by Night Fever, Mick Flavin, Noel Cassidy, Jimmy Hussey, Busy Fingers. Tickets cost €10 each - the committee will be out selling over the next few weeks and your support will be very much appreciated. Tickets will also be on sale in Gala Ballinamuck and Post Office in Drumlish.
Social Dance Classes
Classes resume on Wednesday October 14th at 8pm in Porter House. We welcome back our existing members and an extended warm welcome to new members. “ shine up those shoes” take on the slow waltz, fox trot etc.
Another solid performance by DTT with an increase of 6 marks to 293- it didn’t quite reflect the projects and major works of transformation that got done this summer but the building blocks are in place for 2016. Judging took place on July 20th a whole month later than previous years and apparently is going to be the norm for future years. The annual general meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 22nd October at 7.30 pm.
Kiltycreevagh N.S. will hold a weekend celebration next year on the 12th, 13th, and 14th August 2016. A book is been compiled to commemorate this occasion. We are seeking old photos and stories that people wish to share and have published in this book. Photos and stories can be scanned and emailed to Kittycreev@gmail.com. Alternatively these can be given to a committee member. (email for details on committee members). Please put your name on the back of photos, so they can be returned after they have been scanned.
Pupils from 5th and 6th Class from St Patrick’s National School, Ballinamuck are holding their annual cake sale for GOAL. It will take place in the school on Monday, 19th October from to 2pm. They invite all people from the Community and surrounding areas to help them raise funds for this charity. Please support.
