Old graveyard

Open day

The annual garden open day at Paddy and Mary Gillooley’s Mill Road, Drumlish will be held on Saturday, 30 May 2015 from 11am – 6pm. In aid of Irish Cancer Society with admission optional. Tea and beverages will be served on the day. Everyone is very welcome.

Cemetery blessing

Killoe parish cemetery Sunday will be held on Sunday, 28 June 2015. St Oliver’s Cullyfad at 9.30am, St Mary’s Aughaboy at 11am. Old Killoe blessing graves at 12.30pm. We wish to remind grave holders that no weeds, old flowers or containers are to be thrown at side or behind graves or over the walls. Note a hefty fine by council for same. Please remove any weeds that may be growing at the side of your plots and when cutting grass ensure your neighbouring graves or tarmac are not plastered with grass. It must be cleaned up and remember to bring a bag. A brush/pan, sweeping brush and watering container are inside the wall for your use. Please return to place of rest when finished. Many hours of voluntary physical labour are input to main the up-keep of the cemetery and we thank all plot holders for their continuous respect.

Saturday 8pm Sacred Heart Novena St Oliver’s Cullyfad ends Friday 12 June 2015 at 8pm with mass and Novena prayers. Eircode the new postcode system for Ireland will be launched in June 2015. Cullyfad Bingo

Village flowers

Once again we are enhancing the village with hanging baskets and flower beds. We need volunteers to assist with watering and general maintenance. If you are available to help please contact our Chairperson Sean Murray.

Community Games

Best of luck to our U12 outdoor soccer, U13 indoor soccer and U15 Futsal team and their managers who are representing us in the first round of the Leinster games on the 7th June in Edgeworthstown. Please note that the date for the County Track and Field events in Leo Casey Park, Ballymahon, has been changed from Sunday 31st May to Sunday 14th June due to the Longford/Dublin match. The committee would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Harkin and Ledwith families on the sad passing of Harry Ledwith.
