The Hit & Miss Golf Society held their first outing of the year in the Slieve Russell Golf Club. A great turnout of 23 golfers played in difficult weather conditions on a great golf course. Our Captain, Joe Mulligan was well supported on the first tee as he took the first drive for this golf season. Joe appeared a little nervous as he was about to drive, however he did not let himself down he nailed the drive sending it all of 300 yards into the wind, his good friend, Rory McIlroy would be proud. Winner on the day was Gerry McCabe with 35 points, second was Gerry McKeon with 34 points, third was Niall (Bubba) Hudson with 33 points. Nearest the pin on the 11th was Michael Frances McKeon, Longest Drive on the 13th was Anthony Maguire. Our next outing is in Esker Hills in the great county of Offaly on the 11th April at tee off time of 10am, the home of Shane Lowry who is taking part in the Masters in Augusta the same weekend. Can all members confirm their attendance with our Captain so we can get an idea of the numbers that will be going on the day
