Tidy towns

Litter pickings starts in Ballinagh on this Saturday, March 21st at 11am and the area covered will extend to Corduff Cross. Volunteers are needed and do please support.


Ballinagh Comhaltas are hosting a special night on this Saturday, 21st March at 9.30pm in Brady’s lounge in memory of the late Brian Rudden. It will also be a fundraiser for the Cavan Alzheimers Association and everyone is most welcome. Your support would be greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing you there.

Afternoon of prayer

With Eddie Stones at Holy Trinity Abbey Kilnacrott on Sunday, 22nd March at 3pm followed by holy mass and blessings while on Friday, March 27th a concert with James Kilbane will be held in the Abbey Church with subscription voluntary and a door prize of a trip to Medjugorje sponsored by Marian pilgrimages to be won.

Congratulations to popular Ballinagh National School principle Mr George Cartwright on his appointment as chairman of the administration committee of Cumann Luth Chleas Gael. George will be no newcomer at GAA headquarters having served for many years as Cavan delegate to central council. A former chairman of Cavan county board his countless friends join in wishing this most unassuming sportsman a happy and successful term in office.

Talented group

The Sl Glah Drama Group are currently among the regions best known and most sought after group of entertainers to come on the entertainment scene for more than three decades. Already this season at venues throughout Cavan and adjoining counties this very talented cast – the members are all local – have played before packed audiences whom they have held spell bound in laughter with their most enjoyable performances. For those anxious not not miss this show of a lifetime the group will perform in Cavan Town Hall theatre on Tuesday, March 31st at 8.30pm.
