The late Feichin Gammell

The entire local and North Westmeath communities, and further afield, were saddend to learn of the death which took place on Saturday, december 20th, 2014, at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, of Fechin Gammell, Hammondstown, Castlepollard. The remains reposed at his residence on Sunday, December 21st, until removal on Monday morning, December 22nd, to St. Brigid’s Church, Ballinacree. The funeral took place following Requiem Mass at 11.00am in St. Brigid’s Church, and internment took place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The attendance at the removal, Mass and funeral was very large and widely representative of the esteem in which the deceased was held. The deceased was a member of an old respected family. Fechin had many interests, and foremost was his devotion to his family. He will be sadly missed not alone by his immediate family, but by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his loving wife Gretta, son Paul, daughter Camilla, daughter-in-law Colette, son-in-law Barry, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, other relatives and wide circle of friends to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

Householders, particularly those living in isolated areas, are urged to remain cautious when dealing with door to door callers offering goods or services and unrealistically low prices. Please do not give any personal information concerning yourselves or friends, neighbours etc., such as work hours/shifts, shopping habits etc. If in doubt with any caller, keep your door firmly closed, and contact the Gardai, friends, and neighbours without delay. If something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
