Face of Ireland Congratulations to Eimear Reynolds, Kilglass on becoming this year’s Face of Ireland. Eimear is daughter of Finnian and Hilary Reynolds, Mullagh, Kilglass and she was announced winner at the final of the competition in Dublin on Sunday night last. Indeed Eimear could also be the voice of Ireland as she is a magnificent singer and performs regularly accompanied by her brother Andrew.
Annaduff Ladies GAA are holding a table quiz in Cox’s Steakhouse Dromod on Friday, 7th November at 9.30pm. Tables of four €40. Please come and support the ladies with their fundraiser.

Christmas Fair and Fun day hosted by 17th Roscommon - Kilglass/Tarmonbarry Scouts Group and Shannon River Adventure Centre will be held on Sunday 7th December from 12pm to 6pm. This promises to be a great festive day for all. The event will include: Music; Fair Games; Stalls (Christmas items, bakery, etc.); Santa; Face Painting; Camp craft workshops; Activities such as Archery & Climbing Wall; Mulled Wine and Mince Pies and much much more. We would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of the late Aidian Keegan, Coronary Aughavas who passed away on October 20th last. Aidian was laid to rest in Mohill cemetery on Friday last. May he rest in peace.
“The Country Boy” a play by John Murphy and performed by Athlone Little Theatre takes place in St Mary’s Hall, Carrick on Shannon on Friday, October 31st at 8pm. The proceeds of this performance are to raise much needed funds for the Carrick on Shannon Lourdes Assisted Pilgrim Fund. Each year it arranges to take 60 Assisted Pilgrims to Lourdes for 5 Days as part of the Diocesan Pilgrimage. These Assisted Pilgrims stay at the hospital and are looked after by voluntary helpers and a number of youth workers selected from all of the schools in the diocese. People from every parish travel and they are especially asking the families of people who have travelled in the past to support this night. Tickets are available on the door for €10. The October draw in the Bornacoola gaa club draw took place on Sunday night last in The Copper Still, Dromod with music on the night by Feargal. The Children of Lir
There will be a performance of “The Children of Lir” in Lough Rynn Castle on Sunday, November 2nd starting at 5pm. This will be the epic tale of the children of Lir performed through Irish music and dance by the O’Neill school of Dance. Rita Duffy Lecture
In conjunction with internationally and sometimes controversial artist Rita Duffy`s interesting exhibition at Solas Gallery (Thurs 30 Oct-4th Nov), Ballinamore library will be hosting a lecture “Remember Who You Are” – a visual exploration of the artists’ works over the last 30 years. It will conclude with questions and answers. Tues Nov 4th. 7.30 – 9.00pm. It might be advisable to arrive a bit early.
