Hard luck to the Connolly Intermediate team who were defeated in the Leinster Junior Championship by a much stronger Straffen team, which contained a number of U-21 and Senior Inter-County Kildare players. Well done to the players, the management and the club officials on what has been a fantastic summer for the club.

Halloween Party

Well done to all involved in organising the Halloween Party for the children of the parish in the hall last Sunday. Everyone had a fantastic time.

Community Games

The AGM of the Clonbroney Community Games will take place on Thursday, Novemebr 6th at 8pm in the Thomas Ashe Hall. Parents and volunteers are needed to keep this facility going. Please attend. If you are not able to attend but you still wish to contribute please contact a member of the committee.


Supporting children who have a lost a parent through bereavement or separation. The Rainbows programme offers the opportunity for children grieving to meet with their peers for this support. A twelve week (one hour each Tuesday evening) programme was planned for delivery at Lus na Gréine, Family Resource Centre, Granard from Tuesday 4th November to Tuesday 16th December and returning in the new year. Please note that we are still collecting old mobile phones to go towards purchasing an additional defibrillator for the community. We will also be having a clothes collection in the new year, so we would ask people to please hang on to any old clothes they ma have for this collection.

The Longford Branch would like to thank all who recently contributed to their collection, which amounted to €352. The branch would also like to thank those that took up the collection.
