Is a serious problem along the footpaths and walk around Corry and we ask again for people to clean up after their pets. There are very few stray dogs, so pet owners know when their dogs offend and for other walkers sake, please clean up after your dogs.

Well done to Longford Senior Hurling team who saw off the challenge of Fermanagh in Croke Park on Saturday last to win the Lory Meager Cup on a scoreline of 3-18 to 3-16 in a cracking match, enjoyed by all the supporters who travelled to GAA Head Quarters. The following local Clonguish players were on the team - Paddy Corcoran, Joe O’Brien, Ciaran Corcoran, Gerard Moore, Paul Barden, Ciaran Finnucan and Dermot Kiernan, with Fergus Darcy and Michael O’Rourke mentors on the side line. Congratulations to all.
We had a very lively meeting on Tuesday night last, a big thank you to all who attended and hopefully this is the way our meetings will continue. We have now taken a break for the next two months from meetings but our work is not over. Federation Craft day is on 5th of July and a reminder that all crafts for display must be handed in, on or before June 21st, we will also be baking for the Cafe so ladies don’t relax just yet. There will also be a cafe at the Longford show on July 26th so more baking required. The lotto will continue for two more draws so stay in to win. Our information day will take place in September and it is hoped to raise the profile of ICA in our area, so ladies keep those thinking caps on and maybe we can persuade old and new members to join us.
Well done to Aaron, Ben & Niamh who graded in Kilglass last week. We have a few more gradings to take place in June and if anyone has any queries please contact Ann. New members are always welcome and for further information please contact Sensei Ann Devlin on 087 9248816. Happy birthday this week to Bradley in our Newtown club.
A busy week has just gone by with lots more planting & painting done. Maintaining the flowers is a major task that continues all summer and we’re grateful to everyone who has volunteered to look after pots & flower beds near their homes or businesses. Many hands make light work & nothing could be truer about carrying buckets of water. It may appear that rain is sufficient to maintain the flowers but it’s rarely enough. To all offending pet owners please clean up after your dogs as there seems to be an epidemic of dog fouling recently. Litter awareness is very important now that schools are nearly all on holidays and we’re asking everyone to put sweet wrappers and other rubbish in your pocket or in a bin.
