On Saturday last St. Columba’s Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding when Anne McCabe, daughter of Jim and the late Rita McCabe was united in holy matrimony with Frank Earley, son of James and the late Kathleen Earley, Creevy. The bride who looked radiant in her flowing full length gown and matching head gear was given away by her father Jim. The ceremony was performed by Fr. P.J. Fitzpatrick assisted by Fr. Simon Cadam. The bridesmaids were Kathleen Donohoe, Niamh Keogh and Cara Doherty. The groom was attended by his brother Patrick, Mel Fagan and Jimmy Hand. Beautiful hymns to suit the occasion were rendered by Marie McCormack. Flower girls were Maria Earley and Lorna McCabe and James Briody was Pageboy with Michael Earley being Usher. The Communion Reflection was given by Geraldine Malone. The gift bearers were Jim McCabe and James Earley. The readings were taken care of by Thomas McCabe and Carmel Earley. This truly unforgettable ceremony ended with a magnificent reception and meal in The Hudson Bay Hotel, Athlone. Afterwards the many guests enjoyed a very pleasant night’s dancing to the strains of Night Fever. On behalf of our readers, their numerous friends and well-wishers we extend to the happy young couple every good wish and all God’s blessings in the years that lie ahead in their new home in Cloonagh.
