Aaron Hagan Memorial Hunt
The above will take place on Saturday next, January 25th starting at the Clubhouse in Dromard at 12 noon. Food and Refreshments will be served. All proceeds going towards Tubberpatrick Cemetery and Meals on Wheels Longford. An Auction will follow the Hunt in the Clubhouse. All welcome.
Senior Scór Final will be held on the weekend of February 21/22nd at a venue to be announced later.
Bingo is back in the 98 Hall every Tuesday at 8.30. Prizes galore. Why not come along and enjoy a night out and help our community keep our hall open !
Charity Horse Hunt raises €8,500.
The Galvin and Forde families wish to sincerely thank all who turned out for the Charity Hunt in aid of the Carol Galvin Lyme Disease fund on Sunday week last. Sincere thanks to all the riders and land owners, the stewards, those who donated towards the auction and the raffle, the ticket sellers, those who bid for and purchased the auction items. Special thanks to the ladies who made the soup and sandwiches and to Leo and staff at The Porter House, and to all the people of Drumlish who supported the event. The amount raised was €8,500(and growing) so a big big thank you one and all.
Enterprise meeting A meeting of the Ballinamuck enterprise will take place this evening at 8pm in the visitor centre .Planning for this years visit by the French on the agenda .
Congratulations to Fr.Manning Gaels U21 Championship winning team and St. Helen’s Ladies Team – Leinster and County Champions on their successful function and presentation in Lough Rynn on Saturday night last. Well done to their mentors and team managers for their commitment and dedication. We wish you all continued success in 2014.
CPR & Defibrillator Upskilling

90th Birthday Celebrations
Congratulations to Mrs. Annie Heaney, Bawn, Drumlish, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday with her family – daughters Ann Henderson and Mary Kellegher, sons Michael and Joseph, sister Rose Creand, Letterkenny Co. Donegal, grandchildren, relations and many friends, including singer Mick Flavin who popped in for the party and sang a few songs with her and for her – what a wonderful surprise ! which she thoroughly enjoyed. Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
From 18th – 25th January we have the week of Prayer for Christian Unity. “Is Christ Divided”? is the theme that has been selected for this year. It was chosen by the Chrches of French Canada and comes from St. Paul’s Question in 1 Corinthians, “Has Christ been divided”? Numerous events are taking place in all local churches in the Diocese. You can find these listed in Church porches. There may be one near you that you might like to attend.
Alpha Course 2014
Pope Francis said “The Joy of the Gospel is for every person”. The Alpha Course is a ten week course to help people come closer to Jesus and their faith. It starts on Thursday 6th February at 8.00pm in The Family Centre, St. Mel’s Road Longford. The Alpha Course 2014 is offered to all who want to know more about Christianity, including those passing on the Faith to the young and those who wish to embrace the Christian Faith. Catholic Schools Week
Catholic Schools Week 2014 will begin on Sunday 26th January and will conclude on February 1st. The theme for Catholic Schools week this year is “Catholic Schools – places of Faith and Learning”. This year’s theme was chosen to highlight that all learning takes place in a values context. Catholic Schools Week is an occasion to celebrate the work and achievement of Catholic Schools in Ireland – North and South.
In your prayers remember the souls of Bernadette Fuller, nee McWade, late of Derawley, who died during the week in New York; and Peggy Purdham, nee Walpole, late of Greagh, who died in England.
