Sincere sympathy is extended to the Keogh families, Ohill, Killoe; Crissie Browne, (nee Scully) and family, Drumlish; Keogh families Kilnatruhan, Killoe on the sad bereavement of their dear mother Mrs Mai Keogh, (nee Scully and predeceased by her husband Dan) who was laid to rest last week. The parish express sincere condolence to her sons James, Eamon, Richard, Paddy, Danny, Damien, Oliver, daughters Mags, Christine, Mary, Theresa, sister Chrissie, sons/daughters in law, sisters in law, grandchildren, extended families , neighbours, friends. Requiem mass was celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Ennybegs, Killoe with burial afterwards in Aughaboy cemetery, Killoe. May you rest peacefully Mai.

Big big birthday

A very large birthday greetings to Larry Nolan Longford who has attained the ten times cardinal number this week and was joined by families and friends to celebrate his longevity in a deserving style. Well Larry we hope the Ennybegs Community Centre Bingo cake will bring you wads of good luck and the parish express good wishes to you and your families for many many more years enjoying great health and happiness. Happy 100th birthday Laurence !

Sympathy

Sincere condolence is extended to Mary Duignan and family, Glentane, Templederry, Nenagh, Co Tipperary, Duignan families, Longford on the sad unexpected bereavement of Mary’s husband, Sean (formerly Clonee, Killoe) who was laid to rest last week. The parish express sympathy to his wife Mary, daughters Michelle, Aurie, sisters Patsy, Veronica, Betty, Nancy, sons in law, mother in law Mary, sisters/brothers in law, grandchildren, extended families, neighbours, friends. Requiem mass was celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Borrisoleigh with burial afterwards in St Brigid’s cemetery, Borrisoleigh, Co Tipperary. May you rest in peace Sean. Also sincere condolence is extended to the West families, UK and Cork on the sad bereavement of their mother, Mrs Martha West, (nee Reynolds, formerly Corlea, Killoe on her 90th year and predeceased by her husband Jim) who was laid to rest this week. The parish express sympathy to her son, Stephen (Brighton), daughter Lynn (Cork), son/ daughter in law, grandchildren, sisters Anna, Theresa, Kathleen UK, Eileen USA, Olive (Cork), brother/sister in law, extended families, friends. Burial was held in Surrey UK. May she rest in peace.

New baby

Congratulations to Paul and Amy Davis, Ohill, Killoe on the recent birth of a bouncy baby boy. The parish extend good wishes to the proud parents, grandparents Dessie and Bridie Davis, Ohill, extended families, friends for a future filled with great health and happiness and many good nights of perfect sleep. Welcome baby Cooper-David to the community. Deo Gratias !

Church News

St Mary’s, Ennybegs, Wednesday at 10am Thursday 10am (confirmation class mass and their teacher Mrs Linda Farrell will be in attendance. Afterwards Fr Brendan O’Sullivan will conduct a short retreat themed (me – confirmation and the holy spirit) for the pupils in the church. “Do this in memory of me” First Holy Communion programme, Mass Sunday, 26 January at 11am. Rota for Ministers of reading has been distributed for 2014 to all ministers and we thank them for their dedication to the ministry. Also much appreciation to all stewards who volunteer their services at all removals and funerals in the parish. An invaluable service to bereaved families, people of the parish and outside community. Volunteers requested for Ministers of Eucharist in St Oliver’s Church, Cullyfad, Killoe at Sundays 9.30 Mass. Please give names to Fr Sean in Sacristy on Sunday, 26 January. A rota comprising of youth aged 16 and over and adults male/female will be scheduled shortly.

Enrolment

St Mel’s College, Longford are holding their enrolment and open evening for all 6th class boys and their parents on Tuesday, 21 January from 7.30pm – 9.30pm in the college. Please bring original birth certificate and PPS no and we wish all you youth good luck in your placement.
