Information evening

Are you interested in preserving the history of our ancient graveyards? An information meeting with guest speaker, John Tierney from Eachtra Archaeological Projects, will be held in Tang Community Centre on Tuesday, 28th January at 8.30pm. The purpose of the meeting will be to give training to the local community which will enable them to document and record information of headstones and any other features contained in our graveyards. This information will be of special interest to descendants of past generations in tracing their roots. This is a very worthwhile project and has been successfully done in many communities throughout Ireland. We are fortunate to have secured Funding from Westmeath Community Development to carry out this Project.
