An open morning event will be held in St Mel’s college Longford on Wednesday 20 November 2013 from 9.30am – 12.30pm for all 6th class pupils who can meet the principal Declan Rowley and teachers for a tour of the college and an up-to-date data on the next step in your educational development. A bus will be available leaving St Theresa’s national school Clontumpher, Killoe at 9.15am for any interested pupils or contact the College Tel: 043 3346469.


Ennybegs Community Centre Bingo every Friday at 8.30pm . Cullyfad bingo every Wednesday at 8.30pm in Cullyfad Community Centre, Killoe. Playground/ activity area

Well done to our Ballinalee/Killoe Cllr Michael Carrigy for innovation in organising a new children’s playground/activity area in Ballinalee village with work to commence in the next few weeks which will serve all families in the Killoe/ Ballinalee area. A much needed venture for all our children and sure to be well utilised.

Big ! Big ! Birthday

A big birthday greeting is extended from the parish to Anna Mai Loughrey, (nee Tynan) Ennybegs, Killoe who celebrated her birthday, joined by families and friends last week with a surprise welcome guest in Aiden McGoldrick who came from the big apple to join in celebrating “This is your life” Anna Mai. Hope he has the big red book. Well Anna Mai, 1923 was sure a symbolic year and 2013 even more so for you, plus you were one step ahead of the Fianna Fail party before their inauguration in 1927 and we wish you and your families, many, many more years of great health and contentment. Happy 90th birthday Anna Mai !

21st birthday

Congratulations to Kevin Lennon, son of Mickie and Rosin, Esker who was joined by family and friends to celebrate that big important birthday last week. The parish extend good wishes to Kevin and his family and now you have the big key to the main door, don’t lose it and good luck in your future career. Happy 21st Kevin.

Bon voyage

The parish extend good wishes to Eugene and Matt Clarke, sons of Mattie and Geraldine, Ohill, Killoe who last week left the ould sod to commence work in New Zealand. We hope you lads have an eventful and happy stay and sure you are certain to find a football somewhere and have a kick about. Good luck Eugene and Matt.

Congratulations to Jennifer Hughes, daughter of James and Wendy, Corlea, Killoe who announced her engagement to Stephen Morris, Twickenham, Surrey, UK, joined by family and friends in Begleys pub, Aughaboy, Killoe last weekend.
