Work4You set up by Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides a free Vocational assessment for individuals who have an acquired brain injury and want support to return to work, training or education. It is free to anyone with an acquired brain injury, aged 16-65 and in receipt of a payment from the Department of Social Protection. For further information please call 0449338773.
Legan ICA Guild will hold the first meeting after the Summer break on Monday 9th September in GAA Clubhouse at 8.30pm. A programme of events for the coming year will be discussed. ICA has organised a Walking Club which will take place on the 3rd Sunday of each month. The first walk takes place on 15th September in Abbeyshrule at 3.00pm. It is hoped Aqua Aerobic classes in The Mall will start shortly. New members welcome.
Results of Inny Anglers Lotto draw held on Friday 30th August. Numbers drawn were 5, 19, 25 and 27. There was no jackpot winner. Special draw winners were Mary Gilsenan and Kathleen Nolan each €40. This week’s draw takes place in Slowey’s for a jackpot of €3,050. Members in charge of Lotto draw for the month of September are Frank Lyons and Brian Hunt.
This Friday 6th September is the First Friday of the month. Holy Communion calls to the sick and housebound will be on Wednesday and Friday mornings at the usual times.
Trip to Cork
Legan’s Aurora Club is heading to Cork for the last outing of the Summer from Monday 9th to Thursday 12th September. There are a few places still available. To book a place contact Joe Murphy or Valerie Moran immediately.
World Suicide Prevention Day
An Ecumenical Service of Remembrance and Hope will be held in the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar on Tuesday 10th September. This is a service of hope for the prevention of suicide, remembering those who have died by suicide and supporting their families, relatives and friends. All are welcome.
Results of GAA Lotto draw held in Connaughton’s Rathowen on Monday August 26th for a jackpot of €7,550. Numbers drawn were 1, 8, 21 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners of €50 each were Arabella McCormack and Marlene Ross. This week’s draw took place in Slowey’s on Monday 2nd September. Results will be published next week.
