I am saddened like many with the passing of one of the great characters of our time Micheal Kelly, Knappogue, Clondra. We were all well accustomed to Micheal arriving on the bicycle in Tarmonbarry and indeed in Clondra. A pint of the black stuff and a conversation about everything from an needle to an anchor. I interviewed him on the radio some time back and got a huge reaction from that interview from all over the region. I so much enjoyed conversing with him, always getting so much knowledge and also getting a great laugh from our regular chats. He told me he had to work very hard in his young days particularly on Bord na Mona. We have in my opinion last one of our characters and on a personal note I certainly already miss his wit and concersations we often had in the past. I extend sympathy to all his relations and his good friends in Knappogue.
