Underage football

Congratulations to the under 10 Inny Shamrocks team who won the Matt Slevin Testimonial Cup when they beat St. Mary’s under 10 team from Rochfortsbridge on Saturday, 24th August . The presentation will take place in Streete Parish Park Complex in the near future, so keep an eye on these notes. It is great to see the young players collecting silverware and bringing honour to the area at a young age, hopefully some of them will end up in Croke Park someday. This is a great reward for those who train and encourage them. And we don’t forget the parents who play a big part. Well done to all concerned.

To all the young musicians and dancers from Ballynacargy who took part in the Fleadh Cheoil in Derry recently and represented County Westmeath. Many people have mentioned how proud they are of the group. We must remember that this did not happen without help, teaching and encouragement from many dedicated people. We ask that you appreciate and support our Rural Arts Organisation. Should anyone like to get involved please contact Eamon Donoghue 087 2513000 or Brian Nerney 086 2596656. New members always welcome in our Rural Arts Group.
