Death: The death took place in Dublin recently of Chris Burton. Chris would have been known to many in the Abbeyshrule area involved in the airfield through his involvement with Abbeyshrule air show during the 1950’s and 60’s where he provided commentary on air-show days and was a big aviation follower. Chris’s son Brendan followed in the footsteps of his dad and he learned the skills of flying a plane in Abbeyshrule also and was trained by local flying instructor George Farrar. Brendan is currently an AerLingus captain. We extend our sympathy to the Bruton family.
