Got An Idea: St. Columba’s N.S. Board of Management would like to invite you to put forward your ideas as to what should be done with our old school building. The building has recently been renovated, so we now need to get it up and running as a working building. All suggestions are welcome. If you would like to make a proposal as to what purpose it could hold, please write down your idea and post back or hand into school.
A Date For Your Diary: Mullinalaghta ladies footballers will hold a presentation night in The Piker’s Lodge, Gowna on Saturday 23rd February. A buffet dinner will be followed by presentation of medals to 2012 Intermediate team. Tickets for the night are on sale in local outlets and from committee members at €20 each. An enjoyable night is guaranteed with Lightning Strikes providing the music.
Ladies Footballers: As part of their fundraising activities the local ladies football club are holding a weekly draw based on the bonus ball in the main draw of the national lottery. Sheets are on sale in local shops or are available from any club member. Match the bonus ball in Saturday’s night you will earn yourself €20. Lines are just €2. Six monthly tickets are available for €50 by contacting Marie Matthews. Your support would be very much appreciated each week. The winning number in Saturday 26th draw was 14. Breege McManus, Cloonagh earned herself €20.
Community Centre: The local community centre will be closed from Monday 11th February to Sunday 24th February. This is to facilitate the installation of the new heating system and insulation over the stage.

Game: Mullinalaghta / Mullahoran Gun Club will have its game night in The Hideaway, Cloncovet on Saturday 2nd February. Supporters of the club will have an opportunity to sample some appetising dishes such as pheasant, duck, rabbit and much more. The annual draw which was deferred in November will also take place. All are invited to come along.
New Arrival: Congratulations and best wishes are extended to Fergus and Rebekah O’Dea on the birth of their baby boy to be named Aiden. The happy event took place in Mount Carmel Hospital, Churchtown on Monday 21st January. Rebekah is daughter of Paddy and Margaret Brady, Cloonagh who are delighted with the arrival of their first grandchild. It gives great satisfaction to relate to their many well wishers that mother and her new born are in excellent health.
