Medjugorje Evening: On Thursday 21st February in the RDS, Dublin with the Visionary from Medjugorje, Marija Pavlovic Lunetti. Mock wedding: Plans are well under way for our “Mock Wedding”, which takes place on February 9th in Crover House Hotel. Recycling of Christmas Cards: Granard Branch Library is Recycling Christmas cards until the end of January.
TTRS: TTRS is a computer based course for children and adults with spelling and reading difficulties, dyslexia and other learning differences. Learning is promoted by a multi-sensory approach: A systematic Programme of seeing, listening, speaking and typing, Seeing the words written on the screen as they are typed out, Hearing the words pronounced as they are typed. Active Retirement: Next meeting on Thursday next 31st Jan. at 11am. New members welcome, anyone wishing to travel with us on our trips during the year should attend this meeting, member’s fees are now due, which covers Insurance.
Tidy Towns: Our next meeting is on Friday next 1st Feb. We need volunteers to help keep our village tidy. The Tus and RSS helpers you’ve seen all last year have finished their term on this scheme. There will be new workers coming in mid Feb. and we need help to sweep and empty bins until these men or women are appointed. We are looking forward to seeing some help come forward as we have no younger people from the village on our Committee.
Clonfin Commemoration: The annual commemoration of the famous Battle of Clonfin will be held on Sunday next February 3rd starting with Mass for all deceased members at 11.30am in St.Mary’s Granard and continuing at the site in Clonfin at 3.00pm. A guest speaker will be in attendance. Refreshments will be available in McElvaney’s Coolarty afterwards and all are welcome.
