Walks: Kilglass Gaels are arranging ‘Organised Weekly Walks’, commencing Sunday 3rd February and continuing every Sunday until the end of March. Walks will be varied and mainly around the parish of Kilglass. 
Entry fee, adults 5 euro, children 2 euro, special family rate for over four members. Participants will be included in draws for some excellent prizes. Draws will take place weekly and also a final draw on the last day. All proceeds going towards the completion of the Field of Dreams project. First walk is on Sunday 3rd of February, meeting at Slatta church at 9am sharp, followed by Sunday 10th of February at 9am sharp at Kilglass pitch. Everyone welcome. Presentation Night: Kilglass Gaels presentation night will take place in Tommy Cox’s pub on Friday 8th of February. All annual club awards will be presented on the night as well as medals to our senior ladies who won the senior shield in 2012. Music on the night by Marty O’Brien.

One act plays: Kilglass Gaels GAA club presents two one act plays in Kilglass Gaels centre on Friday 15th and Sunday 17th of February 2013. Seats must be booked in advance through Noreen Corcoran on (086) 1698466.

Sympathy: Deepest sympathy is extended to Raymond and Martina Campell, Bornacoola, on the recent death of Raymonds mother Mary Ann Campell. May she rest in peace. Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sean Mulleady, Creenagh, Drumlish (cousin of Diane Tighe New Rooskey). May he rest in peace. Deepest sympathy is extended to Brenda, Stephanie, Jessica and Connor Hayes, New Rooskey, on the untimely death of Stephen Hayes in Australia, Dublin and formerly New Rooskey. Stephen was an outgoing friendly man who always had a smile on his face. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. May he rest in peace. Deepest sympathy is extended to the Gaffney family, Cloonshannagh on the recent death of Paddy Gaffney, Cloonshannagh. Paddy was a great neighbour and friend, and was held in high regard by everyone who knew him. To his wife Patsy, to John and Denise, his son in Law, daughter in law, grandchildren and extended family we offer our sincere sympathy. May he rest in peace.

Winner: Winner of Dynamo Rooskey 5-a-side tournament was Daniel Rogers, Strokestown. Team runners up Sky Blues. Thanks to all the teams who took part and all those who helped out over the weekend.

Quiz: Well done to Rooskey National School in the Credit Union Quiz. The junior team are Robert Downey, Darragh Conroy, Cormac Hoare, Daniel Rogers, who won on the day. The senior team are Eoghan Murphy, Lauren Christopher, Ryan McGowan, Amber Singleton. Both teams are through to the next stage in the Bush Hotel in Carrick on Shannon in the coming weeks.

Table quiz: Rooskey Church Renovation Fund are holding a table quiz in the Kon Tiki on Friday 22nd of February at 9pm. Table of four 40 euro. Refreshments served on the night. Quiz teams from outside the area more than welcome. Please support.

Congrats: Congratulations to Noelle and Damon O’Hara, nee Noonan, Australia and formerly Cloonaufill on the recent birth of their son Connor. Congratulations to proud grandparents Vonnie and Liam Noonan.
