BOTTLE BANK: Longford County Council have asked us to let you know that the bottle bring bank location which used to be on the Mostrim Road is now relocated to the Athlone Road. Turn left between Kestrel Kitchens and Scientific Worldswide games premises.
CLUB 91: The club is now on a break until September 2012 finishing up with a trip to Galway which everyone really enjoyed. The members wish to thank their bus driver Bernie Hackett who is always so helpful and makes the trips so hassle free. Also thanks to Michael who brings members to the club on Wednesday nights. Thanks also to band members Jimmie ad Brendan who are there every Wednesday and keep everyone on their toes. As always many thanks to chairperson Mai who does Trojan work arranging trips away,hotel breaks and keeps the club running so smoothly and to Eileen who looks after the money and all the committee members. Also the club members who come each week without whom there would be no club. And last but not least thank you to Fr Padraig who attended the club’s annual Mass in Knock and for all his help throughout the year. So til September we hope you all enjoy the Summer.

MASS FOR JOE KEARNEY DECEASED: a special mass will be celebrated in Forgney Church on this Friday evening July 13 at 8pm for the late Joe Kearney, formerly from Cloncullen who died in America a few short weeks ago. All are welcome.
FIANNA FAIL: Ballymahon Fianna Fail Cumann wish to extend their deepest sympathy to Mrs Bridie Lynch ,to her son Padraig ,daughters Marine Mary and Imelda,son in law Duggie McLarne and to all her family on the death on June 26th last of Bridie’s husband Brian (Batt) Lynch,former County Councillor , a highly respected member of the Fianna Fail party for a long number of years. WEDDING BELLS: A very happy family gathering took place recently for the Flynn family as they travelled to the Algarve in Portugal for the wedding of Barry,eldest son of Liam and Oonagh Creevaghbeg, to Paula Kelly from Omagh Co Tyrone. Their marriage was celebratd at Igrej, Mattriz Church ,Porches. The best man was Barry’s brother Colm and Paula’s sister Louise was her bridesmaid. Aine Smith Barry’s cousin contributed to the Church music with her beautiful rendition of amazing Grace on the flute. The very enjoyable reception was held in brilliant sunshine at the Villa Vita Parc Hotel in Porches. We send our congratulations to Barry and Paula and wish them every blessing and happiness in their future life together.
MINOR FOOTBALL: Congratulations to the Ballymahon/Forgney minor football team, who beat Western Gaels on Sunday afternoon in Cooneys Hotel Ballymahon minor football league division 2 which was played in Leo Casey Park. Well done lads.
DEATH OF AGGIE REILLY: The sad death occurred last week of Mrs Aggie Reilly nee Hannifan from Glen Edgeworthstown formerly from St Matthews Park Ballymahon at only 47 years of age following a very short illness which she bore with great dignity. Aggie is predceased by her young brother Willie. She was a hard worker and a great neighbour and very popular with everyone who knew her. A huge number of people called to her home on hearing of Aggie’s death and there was a very large attendance when her remains were removed to Ardagh Church for the funeral mass and at Shrule Cemetery where she was laid to rest. We offer our deepest sympathy at this sad time to Michael , to her sons Paul,twins Malcolm and Graham, to her parents Mary and Johnny,to her brothers and sisters Robert Mike Marie Joe Johnny Jacqueline Paul Bardan and Aaron and to all her relatives and many friends. May she rest in peace.

DANCE MUSIC SPORT ART DRAMA: A summer camp for children will be held in the Dean Egan Library from Monday 23rd July to 28th July from 10am to 2pm.Children can be dropped off at the library at 9.30am if needed to facilitate working parents. Mixture of all types of dance,also music,tin whistle and recorder. The cost of 50 euro per child,90 euro for two. Family 110 euro regardless of number. WEEKDAY MASSES: During the month of July there will be no scheduled 10am Mass in St Mathews Church on Wednesday and Friday. Mass will be celebrated in St Dominics Church in Kenagh at 10am instead.
