WEDDING BELLS: The marriage took place in the Church of the Sacred Heart Carrickedmond on Saturday 30th June of Niamh Moran daughter of Chris and Johnny and John Rowan,son of Olive and Jimmy.

WEDDING BELLS: The marriage took place in the Church of the Sacred Heart Carrickedmond on Saturday 30th June of Niamh Moran daughter of Chris and Johnny and John Rowan,son of Olive and Jimmy.

The beautiful marriage ceremony was celebrated by Fr Vincent Connaughton,Fr Peter Tiernan and Fr John Rowan. The stunning bride Niamh was attended to by Sinead Moran Lucinda O’Reilly and Breedge Rowan. The flower girl was Eva Moran. Groomsmen were Gavin Greally, Aidan Rowan and James Rowan and the page boys were James Moran Sean Moran and Ciaran Moran. The church music was provided by Appasionate String Quartet. Following the marriage ,the happy couple were joined by family and friends in the Park Hotel Mullingar where they were wined and dined before dancing the night away. Congratulations to Niamh and John. We wish them long life and happiness together.

Anniversary: Congratulations are also extended to Niamh’s parents Chris and Johnny Moran who celebrated their 41 st anniversary on the same day.

CHARITY DOG SHOW: Longford Charity Dog Show will be held Sunday 15th July at 2pm. Entries will be taken on the day. Lots of prizes to be won. All proceeds are in aid of Aware.

WELCOME HOME: Welcome home to Maura and Michael Dennehy who are visiting friends and relatives in the area at the moment. We wish them a pleasant holiday despsite the lack of sunshine !

CAMP: A dance music sport art and drama Summer camp will take place in St Marys parish Hall from Monday 16th July to Friday 20th July. Camp will start at 10am and finish at 2pm.To facilitate working mothers kids can be dropped off from 9.30am. The dance part will consist of hiphop line ceili set tap flamenco Scottish ballroom and Kinder dance. The music part will consist of tin whistle and recorder. The week will finish off with show for parents and a party for the children. The fee for the camp is 50 euro for one child ,90 euro for two children and further reductions for a family of more than two. CEMETERY SUNDAY: Cemetery Sunday for the parish takes place on 12th August. Mass and blessing of the graves takes place in Killashee at 10.30am. Mass and blessing of the graves takes place in Ballinakill at 3pm.Bleesing of the graves in Clondra takes place at 7.30pm followed by Mass at 8pm.

SYMPATHY: Deepest sympathy is extended to Mike and Ellie Shanley and family on the recent death of Mike’s uncle John Fallon in Galway. May his soul rest in peace.

SUMMER CAMP: Stonepark Summer Camp will take place on Monday next 16th July til Friday 20th July at Stonepark National school. It will cater for children currently attending primary school. COMMUNITY GAMES NEWS: The U13 boys futsal team travelled to Carlow on Saturday morning last to play the Leinster semi final against the Kildare representatives. Our boys were defeated but we say well done on getting to the semi final. Thank you to their manager Dan for all his hard work.
