COMMUNITY GAMES: Our Annual Sports Day will take place on Sunday, the 13th. May, 2012 at 12 noon. All children living within the Killoe Community Games boundary are welcome to participate. We have all the usual events for both boys and girls to take part in:- Toddlers Race for U4, 60m for U6 and U8, 80m for U8, 60m hurdles for U10, 100m for U10, U12, U14, and U16; 200m for U10, 600m for U12, 800m for U14, 80m hurdles for U14, 1500m for U16, 100m relay for U10, U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16; Ball Throw U12, Long Puck U12 Boys and U14 Girls, Shot Putt for U14, Discus for U16, Javelin for U16 and Long Kick for U13. We have a number of novelty events for all age groups and we haven’t forgotten the mothers and fathers either - we have races for them also. All the events are free of charge and there will be a shop on site. Hopefully, the weather will be good and the sun shines on the day. Help from any parents is most appreciated on the day. Recently the Pitch and Putt was played in Ballinalee. Killoe hosted two teams. Team A came in third place. Team B was not placed. Both teams did very well and an enjoyable day was had by all and from what I hear the teams are looking forward to next year’s competition. Well done to all the teams and many thanks to Mick O’Driscoll who managed and trained the teams. The County Swimming Final is fast approaching. Any children who are interested in taking part, please contact Maureen at 087 9436097 by this evening, Wednesday, the 2nd. May as the Panel Sheets must be submitted.

STEP BY STEP: Mary Corr’s creche Bundoon Killoe is now accepting bookings for 2013. Due to extended faclities we now have Montessori availability for eight children who wish to avail of the free pre-school year. Booking is essential. WEDDING: Congratulations to Claire Kiernan daughter of Frank and Dolores Kiernan Construction Kiltyreher Killoe who exchanged nuptial vows with Ogie Campbell son of Terry and Mary Killashee Co Longford. Joined by family and friends in St Marys Church Ennybegs Killoe. A sumptuous reception of craic agus ceoil ,great cuisine was immensely enjoyed by all afterwards in the Clover House Hotel Lough Sheelin Mountnugent Co Cavan. CONDOLENCE: Sincere sympathy is extended to Mary McManus and families Soran Killoe. The McManus Brady families Esker Killoe on the sad bereavement of Mary’s husband Christy who was laid to rest last week.
