CONGRESS BELL: Many thanks to all who participated in the reception and procession of the congress bell which took place from the O’Caroloan monument to St Patrick’s church at 8pm on Wednesday 20th July 2011. The chiming of the bell reflects the invitation to faith, to prayer to reconciliation and to mission which has always been important in our christian tradition and is no less so today. during this year as we prepare for the international Eucharistic Congress in Dublin next June 2012.

LOTTO RESULTS: The numbers drawn on the 18th July 2011 were 1, 9,20, 23. There was no jackpot winner. The lucky dip winners are 1st 70 euro Jim and Mary Foy, Mohill; 2nd 40 euro May Tobin Treanmore Mohill; 3rd 20 euro Kathleen Ward Drumboy Mohill. The draw on 25th July was held in O’Carolans Glebe St with the jackpot at 7200 euro.Thankiing you for your continued support. Proceeds go to fund our club. Every little helps. WEDDING BELLS: A very pretty wedding took place in St Patrick’s Church Mohill last week when Alden Tavey was united in matrimony with Sandra McGinn Castleblaney. Following the ceremony a reception for family and friends was enjoyed at Lough Rynn Castle Hotel. We congratulate Aiden and Sandra and wish them good luck good health and every blessing now and in the years ahead.

THOMAS HILL: It was with the deepest regret we learned of the death of Thomas Hill Ussaun Mohill who died peacefully at his home on Sunday 17th July 2011.Tom as he was most affectionately known was predeceased by his loving wife Maureen a few short years ago. A London native he and his late wife Maureen have enjoyed life here in Mohill. Since their retirement , they were active members of the community. Tom will be very sadly missed as he was a gentleman of many qualities whom it was always a pleasure to meet. His removal took place from O’Carolan Nursing Home to St Patrick’s Church and was representative of all sections of the community as was his requiem Mass which was a celebration of Tom’s life. The beautiful music on his sad occasion added to its solemnity. Our sympathies are with his son daughter son in law daughter in law grandchildren great grand children sisters in law brother in law nephews nieces and all who mourn Tom at this sad time. May his gentle heart rest in peace.

CONGRATULATONS: We wish to add our congratulations to the many received by Shane and Orla Reynolds (Bohan) Dromod on the birth of their beautiful baby daughter Lily May and congrats also to the proud grandparents Sean Bohan and George and Evelyn Reynolds. We all wish Lily May a long life filled with love and every blessing.

MOHILL SHOW 2011: A meeting of Mohill Agricultural Show committee will take place in Clarkes Hotel on Thursday next 28th July at 9pm. Prior to the meeting Willie Donnellan photographer will attend to take photographs at 8pm.Your attendance will be very much appreciated as there’s very important items on the agenda regarding show day 2011.

CONCERN COLLECTION: The annual Church gate collection in aid of Concern will take place at St Patricks Church Mohill on Saturday and Sunday next July 20th and 31st

SHOW MEETING: A meeting of Mohill Agricultural Show Committee will take place in Clarkes Hotel on this Thursday July 28. A committee photograph will be taken before the meeting starts so all committee members are asked to attend at 8 o’clock sharp.

WEDDING BELLS: To the following who were married in St Patrick’s Chuch receently we send our warmest congratulations . Marry Ellen McKeon Glebe St Mohill on the marriage to Rob Walpole Camlin Co Wexford . Following the ceremony there was a reception at Lough Rynn Castle Hotel where everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and the entertainment that followed also exchanging their married vows in St Patrick’s Church were Brian O’Shaughnessy and Jane Purcell from Dubliin. After the ceremony they had their reception in the Lough Rynn Castle Hotel. Wishing Brian and Jane good luck, good health and every blessing now and in the future. Our very best wishes also to Elaine Coen Killahaun Mohill and Dermot Faughnan Finnelaughta Annaduff who have also been married in St Patrick’s Church Mohill and who held their reception in Kilronan castle. Congratulations Dermot and Elaine may your future life be filled with happiness and every blessing.
