ICA

At our monthly meeting on Tuesday last the competition winner was Patricia Macken and the raffle winner was Marie Watts. The next monthly meeting and AGM will be held on Tuesday 5th April at 8.30pm. Teas Mary Doyle and Rose Byrne.. Competition Spring flower arrangement. Membership fees to be paid at this meeting. On Tuesday 15th March at 8pm. The Samaritans will give a talk on emotional wellbeing and listening skills. This event is open to everyone. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

PIONEERS

A meeting of Newtownforbes PTAA will be held following the Vigil Mass on this Saturday night.

STATIONS

Anyone who wishes to host a station please contact Fr McGovern to arrange a date.

LOURDES

The annual diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from May 27th to June 1st. All in cost is 699 euro

CLONGUISH GAA

The winning numbers were 5, 19,24 , 28. 100 euro Jim Hannify ; 50 euro John Mac , Mary & Jacinta; 25 euro Enda Mimnagh; 25 euro Monica Matthews. Next draw will be held in Casey’s with a jackpot of 3900 euro.

FARM

Longford IFA invites all farm families to a special meeting on farm safety in the Longford Arms Hotel on this Wednesday March 9th at 8.30pm.

ACCOUNTS

The accounts of the parish for 2010 have been audited. A summary of the audit can be picked up at the doors of the church.

ASH WEDNESDAY

This Wednesday 9th March is ash Wednesday , the first day of the season of lent. Masses for Ash Wednesday are at 9am and 7.30pm with the blessing and distribution of ashes each Mass.

SYMPATHY

We extend sincere sympathy to the relatives of Mike Russell, formerly of Prucklish who died recently in England. RIP.

TABLE QUIZ

Clonguish Ladies GFC are holding an Irish night and table quiz in McGowan’s on Friday March 18 at 9pm. All are welcome.
