NO LOTTO WINNER - No winner of the 15,000 euro jackpot. The numbers drawn were 6, 10, 11, 16. The numbers drawn for the second jackpot of 3900 euro were 3, 9, 16, 20. There was no winner of the jackpot. The six drawn winners are Jack Britton Keena, Kevin Boyhan, Rose Nugent, Silver, Bridie Lynch and Darren Dervan.The next draw is 7th March 2011 and this draw will have two jackpots one for 15,000 euro and the next for 4050 euro.
TIDY TOWNS GROUP
A new committee and members for tidy towns was organise in November, with John Feerick as Chairman, Ita Tighe as Secretary, Denise Fulham as PRO and Peter Fulham & Joan Tormey as Treasurers.The group meets up every Saturday morning and carries out tasks around the Village.These tasks include cleaning litter along the main road and side roads and sweeping the footpaths. The plan for 2011 is new flower boxes and hanging baskets, along with new village signs and painting of derelict houses and cutting hedgerows and trees. This Friday 11th March, tidy towns are holding a table quiz to aid with funding. This quiz is being held in Cyrian’s pub at 8.30pm sharp. The committee is hoping to hold a fashion show in June, so keep tuned for more info. The Tidy Towns are asking for everyone to assist in either attending the quiz or helping out with work.

Ms Keegan and all the junior and senior Infants would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for helping us collect old mobile phones. We have collected over 330 mobiles so far. We are still collecting them for the Jack & Jill Foundation so we can get a free Interactive Whiteboard. If you have any old mobile phones that you would like to donate, you can leave them in the school, Sexton’s Shop, Waddlers & Toddlers or Stepping Stones. On Friday the 1st April a momentous competition will occur, bigger than the elections!!!!! Our local publican Mr. Cyrian Connaughton will be “Chancin Irish Dancing” all in aid of LARCC Ballinalack. Well known local faces dance to raise money for LARCC and they will be judged by Guest Judges: Colm O’Se, ex-Riverdance & world Champion Dancer, Sinead Mulvey, who with Black Daisy represented Ireland in the EuroVision. Charmaine Kenny, 2009 Rose of Tralee and Mark McMahon, Champion Irish Dancer. Tickets for this display of talent are €10 and are on sale from LARCC or the Greville Arms Hotel. Cyrian is dancing along side Gemma Gorman, from Dalystowns. Gemma is a student of Kevin Lester School of Dancing, Rochfortbridge.Cyrian and Gemma will be up against 8 other dancers. Sponsorship cards are in Rathowen Post Office and Connaughtons Pub, so please give generously to sponsor Cyrian in this competition of competitions, the champion’s league of Irish Dancing, The Sam Maguire of all events!!!!!!
