The Community Games Art competition took place on the 27th of February and the results are as follows: Girls U8: 1st Rachel Eivers; Girls U10: 1st Aishling Morrissey 2nd Anna Moorhead; Girls U12: 1st Grace Kennedy 2nd Aimee Lennon; Girls U14: 1st Marie Brady 2nd Katie Morrissey. On Friday evening last, our Killoe Boys U15 Indoor Soccer team represented Co. Longford when they played against Rathkenny from Co. Meath in the first round of Leinster. This was a very exciting game against a very strong visiting Meath team. Both sides played to a very high standard and after a tough battle, the Killoe team finished up the winners, with a final score of 6-4. Well done to all the lads and manager Mark Hughes and keep up the work in your next round! Many thanks to Drumlish CC for the use of their facilities, to the referee and to everyone who helped out with refreshments. In Basketball, on Friday last, our Girls U16 played a great game against Ballymahon, and were unfortunate to not to win the game. Well done to all the girls involved and many thanks to manager Lorraine Linnane. Our Girls U13 played against Ballymahon on Sunday. This was a very close game right down to the very end. Ballymahon won the game by a single basket in a nail-biting match. Well done to our Killoe girls on a great game and many thanks to manager Ciara Linnane for looking after this team.
Fr. Sean Casey and Rev. Janet Catterall performed an Ecumenial Service and blessing of the Defribulator Project on Friday the 4th of March in Cullyfad Community Centre where the new Defibrillator is based. Sincere thanks to all who attended. We wish to acknowledge the many donations received towards the purchase of further units. We greatly appreciate your generosity. The fund raising continues and it is proposed to hold a Table Quiz in Cullyfad Community Centre on Fri. night, March 25th at 8.30pm. A special thanks to Noel Conway and Mary Burns who made the project a great success and to all those who carried out the CPR Course over the last few months.
