TIDY TOWNS 2011 - The A.G.M. of the Ardagh Tidy Towns took place last Friday 4th March in the Community Centre. Thanks to those who attended and for all suggestions and comments.
The proposal this year to deal with litter, is for every household to adopt a section of road outside their own house for a distance of 100 metres in both directions. Each morning and evening , if all rubbish was removed it would ease and share the burden of keeping the village litter free. This proposal wil be drawn up in more detail over the next few weeks and distributed to households in the village, as well as printed in the Longford Leader Ardagh notes and on the Ardagh News Website. Many thanks for the cooperation and goodwill of all the people who were involved in last years Tidy towns. We will be looking for volunteers in the coming weeks to help out with various tasks and activities. Leaders of some of last years groups will be meeting shortly and will draw up a plan of action for this year. You can also support the work of the Tidy Town by attending the Bingo in the Community centre on Tuesday nights and buying the weekly Ardagh Tidy Town lottery tickets. Good luck to everyone in 2011
