TRAD FEST

Rooskey Trad Fest takes place from Friday 11th of March to Sunday 13th of March inclusive. The aim of this festival is to establish and promote the importance of traditional Irish music and culture. It also aims to facilitate young and upcoming players. Concerts, sessions and workshops will take place over the weekend. There will be music in the local pubs. Some of the session musicians coming are, Angelina Carberry, Patsy Hanley, Noel Sweeney, Paddy Devlin and many more. For further details contact 071 9638038.

SYMPATHY

The death took place recently of Mary Kearns (nee Ahern), Druminardly, predeceased by her husband William. The deceased is survived by her children Liam, Catherine, Ethel, Rosaleen, Larry and John, sons -in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family, neighbours and many friends. Mrs Kearns was a quiet, genteel lady, and was greatly talented in many areas including stitchwork, baking, and art to name but a few. Her funeral mass took place to Kilglass church with burial afterwards in Kilglass cemetery. May she rest in peace.
