SYMPATHY

The death, at Áras Carolan Nursing Home, Mohill in his ninety sixth year of former Drumnamore resident Mr. Frank (Sonnie) Kavanagh, has evoked widespread sympathy. He was laid to rest in Fenagh Abbey cemetery following Mass of the Resurrection celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, Aughavas. We condole with his many relatives, who include his nephew Mr. Tom Fee, Mullaghboy. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

PRESENTATION

Following Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea on last Saturday evening a presentation was made by Mrs. Evonne Kellett and Mr. Tommy Connolly to Mrs. Anna Mae Denneny as a token of gratitude for her five decades of dedication in training the Church choir at St. Mary’s.

THANKS

Drumreilly Parents’ Association held the Christmas Show and fundraiser on Thursday January 20th. The members wish to thank all who in various ways contributed to making the event a success. They are grateful to the teachers, Aisling McCusker, Aisling McKiernan, Clare McLoughlin and S.N.A. Elizabeth Prior, all of whom put in so much effort in the event. They are grateful to the children without whom there would be no show. Thanks also to the parents who donated prizes which included coal, wine, chocolates, biscuits blanket, groceries etc. and for generous donations from the business outlets Drumcoura Lake Resort, Centra Carrigallen, Foster’s Pharmacy, Carrigallen, John O Malley, Butcher, Carrigallen, David Mc Brien, Butcher and also to Clare McLoughlin. COMMUNITY CENTRE

Chairperson Bernadette Grimes presided at a meeting of the Community Centre Committee on Monday of last week. Among the chief items discussed were the Bazaar returns, Installation of Fire Alarms, Bingo and Repairs.
