FEIS AND BLOOD - We extend our congratulations to the Finnegan family Drumkane Carrigallen who appeared recently on the family talent show feis and blood hosted by TG4. This new show is searching for Ireland’s most entertaining family. Over three hundred families were auditioned and eighty of these are taking part in the series.

This new show is searching for Ireland’s most entertaining family. Over three hundred families were auditioned and eighty of these are taking part in the series.

The family consisted of (Father) Michael on bodhran, Sarah on fiddle, Threase on flute Clare sang the song which Sarah had composed as gaelige. John was on the banjo & Harrie on concertina. Although the family did not progress to the next round they all had a great day and a brilliant experience. They got to meet the adjudicators Aonghas McAnally, Sibeal Davitt andd Padraig O’Se and the host Sile Seoige. The performance was recorded in the RTE studios.

DRAMA

The Killeshandra Drama Group will perform a comedy entitled “Tankards Town” written by Chrisine Longford directed by Colm McCormack in the Corn Mill Theatre Carrigallen on Friday Saturday Sunday 11th 12th 13th March and Friday 18th Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March at 8.30. Doors open 8pm and booking at 049 4339612.

TALENT SHOW

Please vote for Sean Nos ar an tSiohann (local dancers from Leitrim Roscommon & Sligo on RTE 1 on Sunday March 13th on Ireland’s Got talent. Remember how they entertained us all at our recent senior citizens party.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the Brady family Bredagh on the death of their sister Mrs Mary Kane Abbeylara whose funeral took place in abbeylara on Wednesday 2nd March RIP.

BEAUTY QUEEN

Directed by Killian McGuinness cast Maura McGuinness Deirdre O’Reilly, Seamus O’Rourke and Charles McGuinness. Deirdre O’Reilly who is a Cavan girl and a member of Gonzo Theatre company. The Beauty Queen of Leenane is her first performance with the Corn Mill Theatre Group. She received a great welcome by the entire cast and she gave an outstanding performance as queen all through the season which came to an end on Sunday night with an oveflowing audience who gave the cast a standing ovation. The players commence their festival run 1st Kiltylogher March 8th, Thursday 10th March Ballinamore Fri 11th Tubbbercurry Friday 18th Shercock Sunday 20th Cavan Tuesday 22nd Glenmaddy Saturday 26th March mid Ulster.
