All teams were in action this week. Streete A lost narrowly to Tyrrellspass B, who are the winners of Division one, on Tuesday night in a home game. On the same night Streete C played Castlepollard for the top place in Division two. The more experienced Castlepollard raced into an early lead, winning the first two games. Eventually they won out easily, playing clever bowls. Congratulations to Castlepollard! On Wednesday night, Streete B travelled to Ballymore and came away with a comprehensive win to secure the runners up spot in Division two. Streete B: Team 1 - Jimmy Croak, Jimmy Kelly and Sean Flood(skip). Team 2- Marie Delamere, Rachel Gaffney and Michael Gillen (skip). Foggy weather along the Royal Canal on Sunday February 8th didn’t deter the Ramblers from walking the towpath from Clondra to Ballydrum Bridge near Killashee and back. The calm conditions which resulted in the fog also meant that the swans and cygnets on the Canal were reflected in the tranquil water as nearly 30 walkers covered the 10km out and back route. The Ramblers AGM will be held in the Cornmill pub in Boherquill on Sunday February 22nd. There will be a local walk , starting in Boherquill at 2pm, and the meeting will follow at 4pm. Annual subscriptions are now due at the rate of €20 each or €30 for a family. Under 16s are free. Don’t forget you can keep up with the Ramblers activities at www.boherquillramblers.ie.
