The Edgeworthstown branch of Society of St Vincent de Paul will hold their annual church gate collection before all Masses in their area including Legan and Ballycloghan this weekend Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th December. Your donations will be greatly appreciated and be used to meet the needs of those suffering from hardship over the Christmas period and throughout 2015.

Mrs Rose McCormack, (Lisawarriff) would like to thank everyone in the parish and beyond, who purchased Christmas cards from her over the past 20 years in aid of Muscular Dystrophy Ireland and/or gave donations to MDI throughout this period. Rose has retired from selling Christmas cards this year and wishes to convey her gratitude to everyone for their support over the years. She would also like to take this opportunity of wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year. GAA

Results of GAA Lotto draw held on Monday, 1st December in The Hill, Carrickboy for a jackpot of €10,000. Numbers drawn were 9, 11, 12 and 18. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners of €50 each were John Farrar and Brian Molihan. This week’s draw took place in Mitchell’s and results will be published next week.

Flower arranging demonstration

Legan ICA will host their annual Christmas Flower arranging demonstration on Tuesday, 16th December in the GAA Clubhouse at 8pm. Ann Murphy Florist will demonstrate five arrangements which will be raffled on the night. Before the demonstration, a sale of Christmas Cakes, Puddings and baking will be held. A Festive supper will be served. All proceeds will be donated to St Christopher’s Day Care centre and local branch of St Vincent de Paul. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

50/50 draw

Social event

St Peter’s Walking Club will have a Social event in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule on Saturday, 13th December. Members and non-members welcome to the Social event. Walkers of all abilities always welcome to join the Club on their walks each Saturday morning at 10.00am.

Craft Fair

The annual Abbeyshrule Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Sunday next, 14th December in the Rustic Inn from 12.00-6.00pm.

Carrick/Sarsfield AGM

The annual general meeting of Carrick Sarsfield Minor club takes place in Legan GAA Clubhouse this Wednesday nigh, 10th December at 9.00pm.

Sympathy

We extend deepest sympathy to the Kathleen Egan, (nee Hunt, Cluntymullen) and her family, Kilcurry, Colehill on the death of her husband, Peadar last week. To the Clyne family, Moydow on the death of Pat and to his relatives in our parish, we extend deepest sympathy. May they rest in Peace.
