Congratulations to author Jude Flynn who launched the 12th edition of Fireside Tales recently. The book is currently on sale in Donoghue’s Hardware Store, Main Street, Granard. Cost €20 each. Hall of Fame Award
Congratulations to John Fay, Carragh, Granard who recently received a well deserved Hall of Fame award at the Longford GAA awards night in Abbeyshrule. John has been a stalwart in GAA circles both at Club and county over the years. We wish him many more happy years among his GAA fraternity.

Longford County Choir
Longford County Choir will perform a Christmas Celebration Concert n St. Mel’s Cathedral Centre on Sunday, 21 December at 7pm. Special guests on the night will include St. Christopher’s Choir and the well known local soprano Emer Barry. Proceeds from the evening will be donated to local charities and St. Christopher’s Services. Tickets are €10 and are available at 087-6854876.

Granard Garden Club will hold their Christmas flower arranging night on Monday, 15 December at 8pm in Lus na Greine Family Resource Centre. All arrangements made will be raffled on the night and refreshments will be served all are welcome.
Clonfin Commeration committee wish to sincerely thank all who subscribed so generously to their church gate collection in Granard last weekend. The committee are planning a much needed clean up of the monument site in Clonfin and greatly appreciate all the support they receive.
Longford Social Services
Hold their annual collection at Masses on 13 and 14 December. They deliver meals and wheels in our area and provide transport services to and from hospitals clinic and St. Joseph’s Care Centre. To provide these facilities it is necessary for them to hold a collection. Your support will be appreciated.
Patrons of Granard Country Markets are reminded that the last market before Christmas is on Friday, 19 December from 8-30am to 11am. All at the market wish their customers and friends a very happy Christmas and thank them for their support in 2014. The market will reopen on Friday 16 January 2015 and look forward to continued support.

On Tuesday 16 Mary McEvoy (Biddy from Glenroe) will visit our shop and cut the cake to celebrate our 1st Anniversary, between 11 and 12, so come and join in, meet Mary and have a slice of cake. We look forward to dressing you for Christmas and helping you with your gift list. All funds raised go directly and totally to projects in the community.
