St. Barry’s Half Marathon

Its that time of year again, St. Barry’s GAA marathon and half marathon. It takes place on Sunday, 12th October, commencing at 10.45am. Walkers will also be welcome. This is a great annual event and draws considerable support from across Ireland. Refreshments served in St. Barry’s Hall after the event.

Feile Strokestown

Feile Strokestown will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10th, 11th, 12th October. Dancing competitions, CD Launches, music in the pubs and Sean Nos dancing competitions etc. Promises to be a great night.

Get together

Whitehall N.S. Parents Association invites all parents to a social night on Friday, 3rd October in “The Lodge” Tarmonbarry  from 9pm. This will be a chance for all parents and teachers to get to know each other in a non school non fundraising setting. We especially look forward to seeing  of our new parents.

Lisa in Face of Ireland Final

Lisa McGowan, Cloonshannagh, Ruskey is in the final of Face of Ireland competition. Lisa is having a number of functions in the run up to the final. A night at Longford Greyhound track on Friday night, 3rd October at 8pm. Tickets available from Claire Hoare. The Parish is asked for its support. Also a tractor run will take place on Saturday, 5th October from Tarmonmbarry commencing 4pm. Entry fee 20 euro. Both fundraisers are in aid of Face of Ireland Suicide Awareness Campaign. Progressive 25

Adoraration of the Blessed Sacrament in St. Anne’s Church, Scramogue takes place on Friday evenings between 6.45pm to 7.45pm.

A church gate collection will take place on Saturday, 4th October and Sunday, 5th October. Please give support to this cause.

Community Cycle

Tarmonbarry/Scramogue Community Cycle every Monday evening at 7.00pm leaving from Centra. All are most welcome to get involved in this cycle. This is not a competitive cycle and there is no fee. Please note change of time.

We extend sympathy to JP Farrell, Cloonmore, Whitehall and Elizabeth Lanigan, Carraun, Witehall on the death of their brother, Peter Farrell, Tallaght, Dublin. Peter was laid to rest last week. May he rest in peace.

Full Fetac Level 5 in Health Care required with a clean driving licence. Applicants must supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete Garda vetting.
