Grants for Senior Citizen Alarms are still available for those who meet the requested criteria and application forms for these are available from either of the above numbers.

Killoe Community Games

The Killoe Community Games AGM took place on Thursday, September 25, in St Teresa’s National School.

The committee elected for 2014/2015 is as follows: President Fr Sean Casey, Chairperson Dolores O’Driscoll, Vice Chairperson Martina Reynolds, Secretary Eilish Quinn, Assistant Secretary Catherine Hopkins, Treasurer Eugene Larkin, Assistant Treasurer Catherine Bracken, PRO Yvonne Prendergast, Assistant PRO Maureen Eivers, Children’s Officer Turlough Farrelly, Property Officer Tommy Mollaghan, County Delegates Eilish Quinn, Martina Reynolds, Eugene Larkin and Yvonne Prendergast, Games Committee Danny Keogh, John Browne, Thomas Quinn, Mary Morrissey, Mairead Moorhead, Ann Harte, Brian Donoghoe and Michelle Tully, Youth Officer Graham Feeney, Database & Area Registrar Maureen Eivers.

The Killoe Community Games Committee wish to thank all their outgoing officers for their hard work, dedication and commitment in their respective roles over the past number of years.

The committee also wish to express our sincere condolences to our past secretary Michelle Tully and her family, on the recent death of her grandmother Mrs Lil Twaddle.

PHD

A big congratulations to Dr Josephine O’Hanlon, (nee Igoe), who recently was awarded a well deserving doctorate in International business at the University of Warwick UK. Josephine is daughter of Anni Jo (nee Shaughnessy) and the late Dan Kellether, Killoe and is a lecturer in international business at NUI Galway. The parish extend very good wishes to Ciaran, Josephine and their families for every success in the future and don’t forget Josephine grind your lectures home to these Longford students!

Nuptials

The parish extend congratulations to Geraldine O’Reilly, Farragh, Killoe who exchanged nuptial vows with Peter Reilly, Smear, Colmcille in St Oliver’s Church, Cullyfad last week. Also congratulations to Sarah Keogh, Clonee, who exchanged nuptial vows with Joseph Keogh in Legan in St Mary’s Church, Ennybegs on Saturday last. We wish the happy couples and their families many years of wedded bliss.

Yoga

A six week yoga course commencing in Thomas Ash Hall, Ballinalee on Tuesdays from 8 – 9.30pm. Also a six week seated yoga course in Ennybegs Community Centre, Killoe on Tuesday mornings from 11am – 12 noon. Further details contact Maureen Bracken telephone 043 3323196.

Irish dancing

Classes in traditional Irish dancing held every Monday at 5pm in Cullyfad Community Centre and every Saturday in Ennybegs Community Centre from 10.30am for all levels and ages. Newcomers very welcome. Contact Marian Kiernan ADCRN tel 086 8478209.

Cilloe Drama

The Cilloe Yew Tree players AGM will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 9pm, in Ennybegs Community Centre Killoe. New members are very welcome.

GAA

The parish extend good wishes and a big god luck to Emmet Og Killoe team and mentors in senior county final v Mullinalaghta on Sunday, October 5 at Pearse Park, Longford.

Condolence

The parish extend sincere sympathy to the Hanlon families, Cloncoose, Longford, extended families, friends on the sad bereavement of their dear mother, Rosaleen Hanlon, (nee McGee), who was laid to rest in Ballymacormack cemetery last week. May she rest in peace.
