Best wishes

Best wishes go to Sergeant Paudge Tobin, Ballyconnell who retired from An Garda Síochána after almost 38 years service in the force. Paudge is a native of Castledermot, Co Kildare and started out in Ballyconnell in 1978 after leaving the Garda College in Templemore. He was transferred to Arva in January 1982 where he served until June 1988 when he then returned to Ballyconnell. Paudge was always helpful and friendly to the people of this area which is why they were disappointed when he was transferred back to Ballyconnell. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1990 and retired just a couple of weeks ago. On behalf of his friends in Arva we wish Paudge many years of good health to enjoy his retirement.
