It was a very busy weekend for all involved in Killashee Community Games, despite the inclement weather conditions. On Saturday last, a large group of children turned up for the art competition. All entries are being judged at the moment and results will be published as soon as possible. On Sunday, the annual sports was held at the football pitch in Killashee and even the downpours could not dampen the spirits of all the athletes who turned out. The county finals will take place in Ballymahon on Saturday, 21st and Sunday, 22nd June. All qualifiers will be notified. Thank you to all the parents who came out in awful weather to mark the field on Saturday evening and to all who helped out at the sports on Sunday.

Fundraiser

A fundraising bag pack in aid of Longford County Community Games takes place on Friday, 30th and Saturday, 31st May in Dunnes Stores, Longford 10am – 8pm. Volunteers from all areas are needed, if you can volunteer please get in contact with Barry on 087 7963182 as soon as possible and also let him know what time would be suitable for you.

Art competitions

The county final for Community Games art competitions will take place on Saturday, 7th June in St Emer’s National School, Longford. All those who qualify to represent Killashee in the final will be notified as soon as possible.

Results from U-6 race

Michael Nolan, Clodagh Cosgrove, Maria Forde, Aldoy McHugh and Darragh Cosgrove all received their very first Gold Community Games medals. Congratulations and well done to all.

St Brigid’s GAA

Result - St Brigids played Grattans in the reserve football league Division 3 on May 10th in Killashee. It resulted in a win for St Brigid’s 3-13 to Grattans 1-10. Congrats and well done to the team of players and management.

Lotto results

Lotto results from Monday, 5th May. Numbers drawn were 1, 6, 16, 20. There was no jackpot winner. 40 euro went to Tony Walsh. 20 euro each went to Mike Skelly, Barry Cox, Declan Shanley. The next lotto draw will be in the Richmond Inn on Sunday, 18th May for a jackpot of 6,140 euro. The lotto team for the Richmond Inn are Tony McKiernan, Ronan Skelly, Pat Farrell, Bosco Skelly and Eddie Flynn. Forms for yearly lotto are available from any of the committee members for 45 euro.

Registration

Registration of members is now due. 20 euro for non players, 40 euro for players, 50 euro for families. Please give registration fees to Dan Magan or Sean Sheridan.

Hospitalised

A number of people in the parish have been ill and hospitalised recently. We wish them all a very speedy recovery. We will keep them all in our thoughts and prayers.

Sympathy

Deepest sympathy is extended to John and Mary Rhatigan and family, Corlea on the recent death of John’s mother, Mrs Cathy Rhatigan. May her soul rest in peace.
