Umbra clothing collection
Umbra clothing collection supporting St Joseph’s Kavisuni Kitui are holding a clothes collection in Bornacoola parish on Friday next. The collection will help fund the apostolate of Fr Nicholas Ngulutu in the parish of St Joseph’s Kavisuni Kitui. The proceeds will be specifically used in individual cases to assist underprivileged children in the parish in the following ways; to provide a balanced diet for a child living with aids, to assist with school fees for children from poor family’s, to help with food costs for orphaned children. All types of clean and dry ladies, gents and children clothes,all household textiles bed linen curtains towels etc. all types of clean and dry underwater ladies gents and children and pairs of shoes good condition ladies gents and children. Today is “ash Wednesday” and the start of lent a time when some people abstain from something or another for the forty days. There will be Mass in Cloonturk Church at 7pm this evening.
Entente Florale selection
The village of Dromod has been bestowed the honour in representing all the villages of Ireland in this year’s Entente Florale competition in Europe. It is a great honour to be selected out of all the villages in Ireland and we hope with your help, support and dedication we can be successful in the competition. There will be a public meeting regarding Dromod’s entry in the competition on Wednesday the 19th of March. The meeting will be held in Warren Lodge B&B in Dromod at 7.30 in the evening, we kindly ask you to attend the meeting and lend your support. This coming week our teen club hope to retain their title at the inter-club soccer tournament in Drumshambo. Their is no club this Friday night in the Hive as The Bornacoola players are taking to he stage this Friday, Saturday and Sunday night for their annual performance in the community centre. We would like to say a big congratulations to Brian Duffy, Karl Mallon, Sean Muldowney, Liam Jones and Robert O’Beirne who represented Bornacoola and Leitrim at the all Ireland finals of Scor na nOg last Saturday in question time. We are still collecting mobile phones for Down Syndrome Ireland so any donations will be appreciated and can be dropped into club .
This event will take place in Ballinamore and surrounding area. It is on the Sunday 20th of April 2014.
