The committee of Margaret of New Orleans Birthplace is delighted to announce the allocation of €20,654 funding for further works to complete Margaret’s cottage from Leitrim Development Company, Drumshanbo.
The money has been provided to bring the cottage up to a higher level of finish for visitors and craft courses to be held in the cottage as an on-going basis, providing an enhanced visitor attraction for the locality. The committee has made links with Bredagh Old National, which is near completion and Michael Masterson’s Haggard in Ballyduffy, Moyne, Co. Longford. We hope to have many links in the future to promote each other’s projects and for people to enjoy what the area has to offer.
The works will be completed by December 2013 and we will then look forward to welcoming further visitors to the area for the 2014 season and beyond.
