Route N55: With the Property Tax one of the main topics of debate at the moment the more serious matter of re-routing the N55 through the parish may have serious consequences for many families who are affected by the proposed re-alignment. The extremely heavy volume of traffic using the N55 has resulted in this proposed road straitening which has been on the cards for a long number of years. However, locals have serious concerns having seen the proposed routes when Cavan Co. Co. engineers had their consultation in the local Parochial hall last week. With farming in crises at the moment due to adverse weather and scarcity of fodder, contemplating losing large tracts of land to the new road is unthinkable.
