CEMETERY SUNDAY: Annaduff cemetery Sunday will take place on Sunday next November 4th starting with mass at 11am followed by the blessing of graves immediately afterwards.

DROMOD DEVELOPMENT ANNUAL SPONSRED WALK: Again this year on Sunday morning last Dromod Development Association held annual sponsored walk. The weather was a little on the wet side but a big thank you to all who turned out on the day. Winners were; gold medal Blanaid Casserly & Maeve Kingston, silver medal;Carmel Sheppard & Marian Casserly , bronze ;Noel Sheppard ,John Woods & Jim Bohan. Winners in the draw were Maeve Kingston,Ellen Woods,Anne Sheppard & Noel Sheppard who all won meal voucher from Cox’s steakhouse with Blanaid Casserly taking home a tin of biscuits and John Bohan a box of roses. Dromod Development Association would like to say a big thanks to organiser Kathleen Moffatt and all others who helped out in any way. If anyone has sponsorship cards they might return them as soon as possible.

BORNACOOLA GAA: Bornacoola had no game last weekend as other teams in the league have games in hand that have to be played first.

BORNACOOLA GAA CLUB DRAW: The October draw in the Bornacoola GAA Club draw took place on Sunday night last in the Weir Lodge Rooskey. Thanks to Frank and Geraldine for their hospitality and their spot prize and to Tom for the entertainment . Also to Aiden Reilly and Gerry Gearty for organising the draw on the night. Winners are published in Bornacoola GAA Club notes.

GET WELL WISHES: We would like to send get well wishes to our good friend and neighbour Darran Conboy, Cloonboney who is recovering following a recent accident. We hope to see you out and about again Darran.

ENGAGED: We would like to send our congratulations to Miss Carol Cox Rooskey and Miss Stephen Cassells Clondra who announced their engagement recently. We wish you health and happiness for the future.

ANNADUFF GAA: Annaduff maintained their Division 1 status with a hard earned win over Kiltubrid by 0-8 to 0-4 in Annaduff on Sunday last. The scoring was low in a match played on a wet surface. David Casey’s team dug deep and were deserving winners with a very committed if unspectacular performance. Dara McKiernan opened the scoring with a Kiltubrid point in the 2nd minute. Joe Cox got the equaliser with a pointed free in the 13th minute. Annaduff got the next three points two frees from Joe Cox and a point from play from county player Ray Cox to leave the home side leading at the break by 0-4 to 0-1.Sean McNabola and Dara McKiernan exchanged points at the start of the second half. Dermot McKeon scored Kiltubrid’s third point in the 52nd minute. Joe Cox replied with a pointed free. Sean McNabola and Conor Reynolds got the next two points with the visitors getting a consolation point in the 59th minute. HALLOWEEN GHOST TRAIN: All roads lead to the Cavan Leitrim Railway in Dromod tonight Wednesday for the annual Halloween Ghost train. This has proven to be a very successful event over the past decade with children coming from far and near to experience a really unique setting. So children get to Dromod for night fall where all the ghost will be waiting for ye.

ANNADUFF PARISH AND GAA LOTTO: At the draw held in Cox’s Steakhouse Bar there was no jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 4,13,23,24, The 50 euro winner was Karen Dockery. The 25 euro winners were Aideen Harte,Mel Cronin, Kyle Russel,Dermot Faughnan. The next draw takes place on Sunday night next in McLoughlins with a jackpot of 3100 euro.

COLM HAGAN IN THE RING: All roads lead to Kilglass Community Centre on November 17th when Colm Hagan represents Annaduff in the Kilglass Gaels White Collar event.

LEGENBDS IN COX’S: The popular Mullingar based dance group “The Legends” will take to the stage in Cox’s bar Dromod on Sunday night next. Dancing starting at 10pm.

ANNADUDFF NIGHT AT THE DOGS IN LONGFORD: Annaduff GAA are holding “A night at the dogs” at Longford greyhound stadium on Friday November 30th. The first race at 8pm.Ticket are 10 euro, children free. 100 euro to sponsor a race. Sponsorship of race cards available at 100 euro, 50 euro and 25 euro. Draw on the night. This is Annaduff GAA Club’s only fundraiser for the year.

WEDDING BELLS: We would like to send our congratulations to Miss Sharon Cox Antfield and Mr Declan O’Keefe who hails from Co Wicklow. The happy couple were married in St Marys Church Annaduff on Friday last with their reception afterwards in the Landmark Hotel Carrick on Shannon. We wish you health and happiness for the future.

MINOR COUNTY FINAL: We send our congratulations to Gortletteragh /Fenagh on winning the county minor final title on Saturday last. They took the spoils with two points to spare in the replay over rivals St Manachans who pout up a gallant performance right up to the final whistle. Final score was Gortletteragh/Fenagh 1-10 St Manachans 0-11.

BRIEFLY: Bornacoola Youth Club running every Friday night. Weather cold and dry for the bank holiday weekend with lots of people getting their last turf home. Dancing continues at Cox’s Dromod every Sunday night. Weir lodge golf society had their annual golf outing for the Liam Quinn Cup on Monday last at Longford Golf Club , full details next week. Mohill GAA club’s slimathon going well and getting near the end. Badminton continues in Mohill Sports Complex tonight Wednesday and every Wednesday starting at 8pm, thanks to our friends in Drumlish badminton club for hosting us in a friendly game last Thursday very enjoyable. Mohill horse fair on Sunday last bad day weather wise crowd down a but but still a very successful day. Well done to Gortletteragh/Fenagh on taking minor county final.
